Industrial Hygiene Basics (ASC)

Upon completion of Industrial Hygiene Basics course, you’ll develop a basic understanding of industrial hygiene terminology and principles, as well as practical approaches for recognizing, evaluating and controlling common workplace industrial hygiene hazards. 

What You Will Learn:

Industrial Hygiene Basics is an essential course to take if you are concerned about the safety, health and general wellbeing of your co-workers and hazards that could affect them.
This is a one-day (.65 CEUs) course that introduces industrial hygiene terminology and principles, as well as practical approaches for recognizing, evaluating and controlling common workplace hazards: chemicals, noise, radiation, thermal stress, and biological and ergonomic stressors. We’ll discuss basic anatomy and physiology, toxicology, hazard control, and recognition and evaluation of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards.

  • Recognition of chemical, physical biological and ergonomics hazards
  • Evaluation of chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic hazards

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for entry-level industrial hygiene technicians, safety professionals and anyone who has industrial hygiene responsibilities.

Completion of the Industrial Hygiene Basics course earns you 0.65 CEUs towards the NSC Advanced Safety Certificate, a nationally recognized safety program based on proven best practices.

Principles of Occupational Safety and Health course and a minimum of 5.2 CEU’s among the approved classes.


The cost of the virtual class is more due to having to ship the workbook to the attendee.

Cancellation without penalty may be made up to three working days prior to the seminar date.  Cancellation after that date will be charged 50% of the fee.  You may avoid this charge by transferring your registration to another person.  Registrants who do not cancel are liable for the entire fee.  ALL REFUNDS WILL BE IN THE FORM OF A CREDIT VOUCHER.  This cancellation policy is standard with all Iowa-Illinois Safety Council sponsored programs.
