Aerial lift

Aerial lifts are versatile and, if operated by a trained and qualified person, safe to use. Like most equipment they make the job easier; however, many workers are injured or killed on aerial lifts each year while being caught between the guardrail and another object such as a steel beam or falling from the platform. And, workers on the ground have been struck and killed by a falling objects from aerial lifts. An aerial lift is any vehicle-mounted device used to elevate personnel, powered or manually operated and include:
 

Extendable boom platforms
Aerial ladders
Articulating (jointed) boom platforms
Vertical towers, and
Any combination of the above

This training will cover:
Explanations of electrical, fall, and falling object hazards
Recognizing and avoiding unsafe conditions in the work setting and the procedures for dealing with hazards in the area
When and how to perform inspections
Manufacturer's requirements and load ratings
