Transmission can occur directly with contaminated food or water, or indirectly when the virus is transferred to the mouth via the hands after contact with environmental surfaces that have been contaminated. This virus is highly contagious and re-infection occurs frequently. It is very important that those who are ill are isolated from others. If yourself or family members or employees become ill, stay home, away from others, at least 48 hours after symptoms have cleared. All surfaces and rooms where there is potential contamination must be scrubbed well with a bleach solution or (EPA)-approved disinfectants.

Stay safe and healthy for the remainder of 2011 and into the new year!
