About the Class
Facilities can make effective decisions related to incident response and training by asking the right questions well before a spill or release occurs. Are you prepared and is your Response Team received the right training to do the job safely and efficiently? This course will prepare your Team to respond to a spill; saving precious time, resources, money and environmental commodities.
This course is designed with response and the ability to “take action” as its foundation. HAZWOPER training does not have to be solely classroom and internet based learning. We view that as boring and ineffective. Responding to mock situations is an effective way to learn that has a high level of retention for the participants. That is what this course has to offer for you and your Team.
You must decide how you will handle a spill before it occurs. Time is a critical factor in any emergency. It is these decisions that could impact lives and the future of your plant that need to be made quickly with precision. The HAZWOPER standard applies to releases of hazardous substances. OSHA is concerned with the hazards of materials to which workers might be exposed in the workplace. Any chemical that might present a health or physical hazard is defined as a hazardous chemical under the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard. The next question is; what is the role of your employee? If the employee needs or is required to assist in spill response in any form, your employees may need HAZWOPER training.
IISC is an authoritative source of knowledge and information that will put you on track to an effective, efficient and HAZWOPER Program. This training session will include many hands-on exercises and group discussions that will give each participant an in-depth understanding of how HAZWOPER is to be implemented and used at your specific facility.
