Fall Protection

About the Class

Falls are the #1 cause for injury and death in the workplace. Is your Management Team  prepared and are your employees equipped with the proper knowledge and equipment to prevent falls within your work environment? Do your employees work off unguarded  platforms, ladders or roof tops above the required standard for fall protection? Do you  use aerial and/or other reciprocating boom lifts at your workplace?

Falls from heights from as little as 4 feet can have dangerous and even fatal consequences. This NEW Fall Protection Course will give you and your employees the knowledge and skills that will improve your Safety Environment associated with elevated work within your facility or work area.

OSHA defines a Competent Person as “one who is capable of identifying existing and predictable conditions in the surroundings and work areas which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous and who has authorization to take prompt corrective action.” The definition is vague, but it does provide the two key expectations for a Competent Person: The authority to make changes and the ability to predict local hazards. This course will clearly define this term within general industry applications.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be capable of identifying existing and predictable fall hazards in the workplace and take corrective measures to eliminate them through the selection, installation and use of appropriate fall protection systems.  Appropriate selection of an anchor, the anchor connector, the harness and especially the required rescue plan needed to keep our employees from falling to injury or death.

Emphasis Industries

General Industries that create “elevated work” for their employees.  This requirement can start at heights as low as 4 feet high.
